Mixing several patterns adds liveliness to a layout. To prevent the patterns from overwhelming photos, stick to smaller patterns, and mat photos with a thin, white mat. Create a shaped border by die-cutting a shape several times, trim the die cuts in half, and then adhere in a straight line on the layout.
