Survey Your Surroundings

Just as important as detail shots are the landscape-style shots that show the general area you’re visiting. Include plenty of color and texture but avoid cluttered backgrounds. Always look for a fresh perspective when taking landscape shots; climb atop something or get down on ground level to get an interesting view of your surroundings. And remember, you can improve a so-so shot later by cropping it.
