No birthday record is complete without a shot of the cake lit with candles. Capture the glow of the flames on the birthday child's face by turning off your flash. To prevent blurring, steady your camera by holding it tight against your body and leaning against a door frame or the back of a chair. If time permits, use a tripod. You can find an inexpensive tabletop version that little feet won't disturb.
