Unite With Color

design by Carrie Colbert

This method is simple: Pick a color and go with it. For this page, I chose blue to complement my photos. Start by looking through your patterned paper stash and pulling out all the similar tones. Then consider the scale of the patterns. For visual interest, you’ll want to vary the scale within a layout. For mine, I chose a small dot, a medium harlequin, and a large circle pattern. These three monochromatic papers are all from different manufacturers, but they work well together.

SOURCES Cardstock: Prism Papers. Patterned paper: KI Memories (small dot), Fontwerks (harlequin), Paper Fever (large circles). Stickers: SEI. Rub-ons: KI Memories. Rubber stamps: Make An Impression. Decorative tape: Heidi Swapp. Flowers: Making Memories. Brads: American Crafts.
