STEP ONE

Open a photo you want to edit and create a working copy by using Save As and selecting the Photoshop (*.PSD, *.PDD) format. Double-click on the layer. A New Layer dialog box will appear; click OK. Open a new layer below the photo layer by holding down the Control key (Command on Mac) and clicking on the Create A New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette.
