The space that was once a nursery in Leah's Southern California home got a new life as a cozy crafting studio thanks to a coat of paint and some smart storage systems. Rather than opting for expensive custom storage units, Leah built her room on a budget, rethinking stock furniture pieces and hardware-store staples. Check out the organization ideas Leah packed into this 100-square-foot space.

I tried using the plastic shoe organizer (heavy duty) but still found that the punches were to heavy to hang and the holder started to tear at the top from all the weight.
7/29/2010 08:40:49 PM Report AbuseThe table is from target.com "madison trestle desk". I bought one after seeing Leah's in the magazine. I LOVE IT!! I believe it also comes in black.
3/9/2010 08:00:08 AM Report AbuseI like the two tables you put together with a board across them. What size and what kind of wood and paint did you use?
2/11/2010 07:41:02 PM Report AbuseI have seen this article before. I would love to see more low-cost with limited space ideas. Many of Leah's ideas are great. I especially like the peg-board. Anything that gets it UP out of the way is perfect as my floor space is tiny.
1/24/2010 02:29:15 PM Report AbuseI love all of the storage ideas but I read that we should store our pens/markers lying down, yet I see them all standing up in tins, jars, etc. Does it matter?
1/23/2010 08:54:50 PM Report AbuseI absolutely LOVE the idea of hanging products in their orginal packaging! I'm definitely implementing this idea when I set up my scrapbooking room.
1/16/2010 04:30:55 PM Report AbuseWhere did she get all those jars?
1/16/2010 04:27:11 PM Report AbuseMarkers work better stored on their sides, rather than on their ends. Especially if they are markers on both ends. The ink flows down to one end. Linda L.
1/15/2010 01:21:12 PM Report AbuseWhere do you find the class for Leah's calendar?
1/14/2010 07:04:59 PM Report AbuseLeah you are a genius! I LOVE your idea of storing the Cricut and larger tools on the ladder type shelving, great idea for a small space like mine where there is not enough desktop space. I also love the buckets hanging on a peg board, cute, decorative and best of all inexpensive! Thanks for sharing your room!
1/14/2010 07:02:24 PM Report AbuseSuch a pretty and well organized scrap room. One question, though. I thought pens were to be stored laying down.
1/14/2010 06:03:59 PM Report AbuseI like the desk
1/14/2010 05:30:18 PM Report AbuseHere's the link for the drawer/trays in closet featured in her room! http://www.containerstore.com/shop/collections/scrapbookingStorage?productId=10012555
1/14/2010 05:29:24 PM Report AbuseCan get table at Target.com!
1/14/2010 05:27:37 PM Report Abusewhere can I purchase the drawer/trays in closet?
1/14/2010 03:39:39 PM Report AbuseLeah I love your table and would like to get one does anyone know where I might find one?
1/14/2010 02:27:05 PM Report AbuseI love the ladder shelve, but pain to keep moving the cricut and tools back and forth, mine sit on my 6 ft table...the open things on walls...no way *dust buddies* Love the table and shelves under it. Love the closet with paper organization, but no way would I keep paper in folders on rolling cart. I have a wonderful scrap/stamp room and hope to post pictures sometime.
1/14/2010 01:27:05 PM Report AbuseWhat size is this room? it looks small in the first photo but keeps going and going. Nice organization. But where does she put all of her embellishments, ribbons, chipboard. I can't believe she just has what we see.
1/14/2010 12:33:59 PM Report AbuseSome of these are really wonderful! I love the open style desk with easily accessible baskets. I don't have a dedicated room so can't put items up on walls or in closets, but some of these ideas will be very useful for me. Thanks so much for all your great ideas Leah!
1/14/2010 11:41:34 AM Report AbuseGreat job, Leah! What a fantastic room. My husband had started to build me my dream scrapbook room, but he passed away of Leukemia at age 54 just as he started the room. You have such wonderful and practical storage area's. Maybe one day my room might become reality. He had no life insurance and times are tough, but maybe one day. God Bless!
1/14/2010 10:54:23 AM Report AbuseHow did they get the pictures of MY scrap room--LOL!!!
