Design by Heather Melzer
Heather used the Marquee tool to trim an arch from her Christmas photo to make room for her title.
1. Open a new 12x12" document in your image-editing software. Fill the background with a purchased digital texture that resembles worn cardboard. Insert a blue patterned background and angle it slightly by pressing Ctrl (Cmd) + T; then drag the box by the corner to rotate. Place digital notebook paper on top as shown.
2. Add a photo to your background, resize it, and position it along the left edge of the layout. Using the Marquee tool, select the circle shape and cut out a section of the photo to make room for a title. Surround the cutout area with two round images stamped with a brush and add color.
3. Place your title inside the circle, and type journaling at the bottom of the notebook paper.
4. Finish with a flourish stamp, a rhinestone-center poinsettia, stitching, and a painted border. Add slight drop shadows for dimension.
