Journaling reads: Casselman River Bridge State Park is nestled on the out skirts of Grantsville, Md. along US Route 40. The Bridge was built in 1813 and spans 80 ft. It was the longest, single span stone arch bridge in the world during the era of the National Road. At the foot of the bridge stands the Spruce Forrest Artisan Village, which is comprised of historic buildings moved to the site from various locations in Western Md. The village is home to local artisan who sale thier pieces of art and offer classes. A fine dinning restraunt and craft storre is located right next tothe village and through out the summer offer a fine array of performing artist each Saturday. Moving east on RTE 40, we have the fruit market, home of candyland, it offers over 900 different varities of candy and is a favorite stop for vistors to the area. I live in a very rural area, no major shopping, no sky scrappers, just tourism and these sites are amoung the must sees if you are in my area.
