BALANCE EMBELLISHMENTS AND PHOTOS ON A FIRST-DAY-OF-SCHOOL SCRAPBOOK PAGE
Design by Kim Crothers
Kim recorded first days of school and her emotions in this symmetrical scrapbook page. She converted her photos to black-and-white so they wouldn’t compete with each other or the vibrant colors in her patterned paper and embellishments. Brackets cut from patterned paper frame the back-to-school photos.
Editor’s Tip: Follow rules of symmetry to make a quick, clean design. Kim maintained balance in her page from top to bottom by centering her elements and keeping a consistent width in her photos, title, and journaling.
SOURCES Cardstock: Die Cuts With A View. Patterned paper: Fancy Pants Designs (circles, stripe, blue), Chatterbox (green). Chipboard letters: EK Success.
