Add a Feminine Twist

Amy Howe knows if one birthday cake is good for her 26th birthday, two must be better! To showcase black-and-white photos from the double-cake celebration, Amy created a feminine background with layered strips of patterned paper in a contemporary color combination. To subdue the cakes’ competing colors, Amy desaturated close-up shots of each confection in Adobe Photoshop Elements, leaving only a pink tint to blend in with the soft pink accents and trim of the layout.
