It’s that time of year again, where the kids and I make a little Valentine assembly line and get their Valentine’s addressed and filled. Last year, we put the kids pictures on Sweetheart candy boxes, but this year we opted for something different.
We decided to keep with the photo of them holding the heart, and attach it to a bag of treats. I wanted to do Hugs and Kisses but my son wanted to also add Laffy Taffy. So we came up with “Hugs and Kisses to someone that makes me Laugh” as the message for the photo card. Then we stuffed mini Lollipop bags (by Wilton) with a punched heart (that we punched out of various scraps of double sided pattered paper), the Hershey’s Hugs and Kisses, and the Laffy Taffy. We tied it off with string, added a ribbon (a girly one for my daughter, and a tattoo-like ribbon for my son), added the wallet sized photo and strung a heart button through it. They were easy to make and the kids enjoyed helping stuff the bags and cutting the string and ribbon.
If you missed the tutorial I did last year on how to add the text to the heart, my instructions are here:
Now that the Valentine’s are done…it’s time to start the Valentine boxes. I’ll update you on those when I finish!
