On page 118 of the February issue, we show a layout featuring a paper patchwork heart. It’s easy to make a similar accent.
1. Arrange several paper scraps on a piece of cardstock. You can either use adhesive to stick them down or stitch the edges, as Gigi Kennedy did on her layout. (If you decide to machine stitch, adhere the pieces first by placing a small amount of adhesive in the center of each piece, away from where you’ll be stitching so you don’t gum up the needle.)
2. Once all of your pieces are attached, trim the finished piece into your desired shape. Gigi created a heart for her layout, but a star or ball could be fun, too!
