Scrapbook Layout How-To

Design by Mary MacAskill

Scrapbooking Supplies
Photo: vertical 7x12"
Cardstock: brown, pink
Paper: two patterns
Specialty paper: word-print transparency
Other: sewing machine, letter stickers, pink rickrack, stapler, woven label, two pink buttons, paper tag, two pink brads

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Attach the photo near the left-hand edge of a 12x12" sheet of brown cardstock. Mary featured an oversize print, but there's room for stacked photos or a collage.

2. Print journaling on two pieces of pink cardstock, and back strips of the word-print transparency with a patterned paper. Stack the journaling blocks, transparency strips, pink cardstock, and patterned-paper strips to the right-hand side of the photo as shown. Use letter stickers to add the title.

3. Embellish the design with quick zigzag stitching.

4. Staple lengths of pink rickrack on the layout as shown. Finish with a woven label, buttons, and a paper tag that's secured with a brad.

SOURCES Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper. Patterned paper: Chatterbox (brown dot), Paperfever (green). Transparency: K&Company. Font: Steelfish off the Internet. Stickers: American Crafts.
