STITCH ON A SIMPLE SCRAPBOOK PAGE

Design by Kate Jurasevich

Beginner Scrapbooking Tip: Katie stitched felt accents and photos to her page. To get the look of stitching without the hassle, attach accents with adhesive and hand-draw stitches around photos.

Scrapbooking Supplies
Photos: one horizontal 7x5”; one horizontal 5x4”
Cardstock: red, blue
Paper: two patterns
Other: ticket accents, felt accents, black pen, letter stickers, pink brads, decorative-edge scissors, corner rounder
Optional: sewing machine

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Round the right-hand corners of a 12x12” sheet of patterned paper. Mount the large photo on a 7-1/2x6- 3/8” piece of a second patterned paper with one decorative edge. Attach the matted photo 1” from the bottom of the 12x12” sheet. Tuck a 7-1/2x2” strip of blue cardstock under the top of the piece.

2. Format and print your journaling on a 5x12” pink cardstock piece, then add the small photo 1-1/4” from the top. Tuck tickets under the top photo, and pink brads between them, and give the right-hand side of the piece a decorative edge before attaching it to the left-hand side of the layout.

3. Use letter stickers to create a title on the blue cardstock strip. Tuck another ticket under the small patterned-paper piece at the bottom of the page, handwrite the date on it, and accent it with a brad. Add felt accents throughout the page and machine-stitch around the large photo.

SOURCES Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper. Patterned paper: My Mind’s Eye (multicolor), Scenic Route Paper Co. (black dot). Font: American Typewriter off the Internet. Stickers, pen: American Crafts. Brads: Lasting Impressions. Felt accents: Heidi Swapp. Tickets: Creative Imaginations.
